Invisible braces

Meet ClearCorrect!

Do you sometimes feel insecure about your smile and would like to have straighter teeth? Then a ClearCorrect treatment might be for you! At De Hilversum Dentist, we work with aligners, almost invisible braces, from ClearCorrect. With these aligners, we can straighten teeth again, making them more beautiful and often healthier (because: easier to keep clean and less wear due to a more favourable bite)

What is an aligner?

An aligner is a custom-made transparent case that is tailor-made for your teeth. You wear the aligner day and night, except while eating and brushing your teeth. After a period set by the dentist (usually 2 weeks), you change the aligners for the next set in the series and so the teeth move step by step to the final desired position.

How does it work?

Are you interested in this treatment? Then we will schedule a consultation at De Hilversum Dentist. During this consultation, we will take a number of photographs, possibly X-rays and a 3D scan/print of your teeth.

We then submit this data to ClearCorrect and the treatment plan is made in consultation with your practitioner. This plan is shown to you with a digital set-up, a video showing exactly how the teeth move from the current to the new position. After approval of the treatment plan, the aligners are ordered and placed in your mouth in a subsequent appointment.

What are the benefits of ClearCorrect?

Versus a non-detachable bracket (locking bracket)

The main advantage is that the ClearCorrect aligner is virtually invisible. In addition, unlike fixed appliances, aligners are removable and this brings a number of advantages. You can continue to clean your teeth as you are used to and you can continue to eat everything. As a result, orthodontics no longer needs to be a hindrance in everyday life.

All the pros, and cons of invisible braces

We have listed all the pros, and cons of invisible braces for you:

Invisible

A big advantage is that the underwire is "invisible" and therefore not very noticeable when you wear it. There is also the fact that the brace only works if you actually wear it then. So you have to consistently keep wearing the brace if you want to see results (faster).

Better for hygiene

Your teeth are again easier to keep clean with invisible braces than with lock braces. This is because you can easily remove the invisible braces from your mouth when you want to clean your invisible braces and teeth.

No wounds

The rubber bands of a clasp brace can break and the clasps can in turn cause wounds in the mouth, no fun! This is not the case with invisible braces, although you can lose the bit if you are not careful, so for the slobbers: a forewarned slob counts for two!

Greater wearing comfort

With a clasp brace, you can achieve more precise shifting on a tooth-by-tooth basis, but invisible braces are generally more comfortable to wear and produce results just a little faster.

Fewer visits to the ortho

Another big advantage is that with invisible braces, you don't have to visit the orthodontist as often as with lock braces. This is because you get a set of different bits to take with you. So this saves you some time and travel costs.

Frequently asked questions about invisible braces

Who are invisible braces suitable for?

Invisible braces are most suitable for people whose jaws have grown, this is usually from 18 years of age. There should also be no extreme abnormalities of the teeth or when the gums are frequent or very inflamed. Are you curious whether invisible braces are for you? For more information, you can always call or email for an appointment. We will be happy to inform you about the possibilities!

What is the best see-through bracket?

At The Hilversum Dentist, we want to find the perfect match for your teeth and needs.

Transparent braces are the solution for people who do not want it to be obvious that they are wearing braces. One option you then have is to take a transparent bit made of medical plastic. By wearing the brace consistently, you will achieve beautifully straight teeth, without the endless visits to the orthodontist and without everyone immediately noticing that you are wearing braces.

You can also opt for ceramic clasp braces. These are also barely visible to the people around you, but it is not possible to remove them from your mouth. You do have that convenience with the transparent aligners, which you can take out of your mouth when you want to eat, which is also more hygienic. If the focus for you is on shifting single teeth very precisely, a locking brace is recommended. If the focus is on wearing comfort and quick results, we recommend the invisible aligner. This is because clasp braces can still sometimes cause wounds in the mouth and the rubber bands can snap. What the best see-through braces are therefore depends on your wishes and needs, although we see many possibilities in the aligner. You can always consult with our team to find the best fitting path to your ideal teeth. If you have further questions, you can of course also contact us!

Can I eat and drink with invisible braces?

With invisible braces, you can drink (water) but not eat. Of course, you can easily remove the brace if you want to eat. Smoking with the braces is also not recommended. The brace may become smelly and discoloured. And if it discolours, it will no longer be invisible, so do not smoke with the brace on!

You can clean the invisible braces with a small brush, such as a toothbrush, a little soap and lukewarm water. You can also use special cleaning tablets but not toothpaste. This can discolour the braces because toothpaste has an abrasive effect. If there is tartar on the braces and you cannot get it off with a brush, you can soak them for an hour in cold water with a splash of vinegar in it. This will soften the tartar and make it easier to remove it.

How much do invisible braces cost?

The cost of invisible braces at De Hilversum Dentist can vary and depends on your unique situation. Therefore, there is no standard answer to this question. By wearing the brace, your teeth shift closer to the desired result. The position of your teeth naturally plays a role in how long this process takes, but also if you do not wear the bit often enough, this can cause the process to take unnecessarily long. Photos ́s and a scan can be used to determine the treatment plan and how many aligners will be needed to achieve straight teeth. By then wearing the denture as consistently as possible, you ensure yourself the fastest route to your dream teeth.

One advantage is that you will need to visit the orthodontist less often than when wearing a locking brace, so you will definitely save time and money! You are also assured of high quality oral care, the use of modern equipment and help from professionals with a lot of knowledge and experience. All this to create the perfect teeth for you.
